Drinking onion tea.
I remember listening to the folk remedies episode of "People's Pharmacy" a few fridays ago. A lady called in whose voice was a dead ringer for Ms. Momma Dip (for you locals), and she went on to talk about the power of onions over colds.
Tonight, I'm trying two of her remedies.
1) chopped up an onion and made a tea with it. Drinking it down now with plenty sugar. not bad at all actually.

2) slightly more strange. I have a chopped up onion in my socks. Supposedly, it'll take that cold right outa me.

Update
on the tea: don't know the extent of healing spurred on by the tea; I still have some natty coughing, but no worse.

on the onion feet: my feet won't, I can assuredly say, be catching cold anytime soon.
